An intensive preoccupation with the conditions in Breitenlee, at the northeast Viennese periphery preceded the planning of the school. The settlement structure, the net of the roads and ways, yards and grassland form the background for the single-storey atrium-type building, whose internal organization becomes fair however also the educational intentions, for the children a protected and at the same time open to offer communicativ "ambiente". This forms, from five inner courts interrupted complex with a clear consequence of areas and broad communications.
With strong external orientation to the structurally seized free spaces in the interrelation between closed and transparent wall screens obtain the building the impression of a calm, as it were forgotten education oasis. The structure of the village land development, the net of the streets and ways as well as the inclusion and organization of the green area were bases of the design. Inner courts and classes are opened by a common open way system.
The atrium-type building offers the ideal conditions in this context for an unimpaired school ambiente. The hall for gym shields the school forecourt as well as behind it lying school building from the road.
